Some television stations have aired specials on childcare providers hurting children.As a mom,grandmother and care provider this has made my heart heavy with sadness.Why would anybody hurt a child?
When looking for childcare it's your responsibility as a parent to call references and ask questions.You are in charge of making sure your child is safe.The majority of providers are wonderful people,we care about kids,we nurture them and protect them,and yes we also grow to love them.
Remember toddlers will come home with cuts,scrapes,and knee bruises.Learning to walk,playing outside,running,jumping and crawling all lead to inevitable dings. When you join a daycare home or center be an active parent get to know the provider.If your child is in a center get to know each provider that will be caring for your child.
Get to know the other parents,talk to one another,share concerns and ask questions,be an active parent in the daycare you choose.Children are treasures that should be protected.
