CHESTERFIELD - Chesterfield Police are trying to identify a man who was posing as a law enforcement officer at an area day care.
It happened earlier this month at the KinderCare on Market Square Lane in Midlothian. Police say the man indicated he was with the U.S. Marshal's service. They say he approached a worker and offered to help track down her child's father.
Police are not commenting any further on the case, but the day care is.
In a statement a KinderCare spokesperson says:
"This is a personal situation involving one of our employees and a parent formerly enrolled at our center in midlothian. The safety and security of the children in our care is our top priority. At no time have the children in our care been involved in this matter or in harms way. We are cooperating fully with the investigation by the Chesterfield County Police Department".
